Cialis for women?

Cailis-For-WomenIn recent years, daily Cialis (tadalafil) has gained popularity as a treatment for both erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hypertrophy (enlarged prostate) in men. It is less well-known to the general public that men with erectile dysfunction have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke. As of 2020, about half a million men per year were taking daily Cialis to treat their ED and prostatic problems. Given those large numbers, it is not surprising that researchers have looked to see if Cialis might have a positive impact upon cardiovascular disease risks.

It turns out that it just might help!

Recent data suggests that men who take daily Cialis have significantly decreased risks of heart failure, heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death. Given the large number of aging men that suffer from erectile dysfunction, prostate disease and cardiovascular disease, one might make a compelling case that many if not most men might benefit from this medication.

So . . . what does all of this have to do with women?

Turns out, quite a bit.

Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women in the United States. And although men and women are not exactly the same (obviously), the disease trajectory of cardiovascular disease in women roughly parallels men. One might reasonably conclude, therefore, that Cialis could have similar cardioprotective benefits for women too.

Also, the impact of Cialis on many women’s sex lives can be quite profound. Cialis causes vasodilation that ultimately increases pelvic blood flow in both men…this impact helps facilitate better erections. In women, that same increased blood flow can improve sexual arousal, lubrication, and perhaps even help facilitate stronger orgasms.

So we ask, should you consider taking daily Cialis? Maybe so. This is certainly some women should consider, especially as they enter their midlife years.

It is important to know that the use of daily Cialis in women is considered off label, and should only be prescribed after consultation with your healthcare provider.
